This Milestone is for the first release of the logger.

The following core features are committed:

• Consumer can install logger as a Python package
• Consumer can pin version number of logger
• Logger can be configured with a yaml file
• Logger supports writing to console
• Logger supports writing to a file
• Logger supports configuration of at least:
  • file size and rollover settings
  • log level
  • active sinks

The following extended features are targeted:

• Logger supports writing to elasticsearch
• Logger supports select configuration overrides with environment variables

Quality gates:

• User facing documentation has been reviewed and is up-to-date
• Automated testing is in place for core logger features
